"Kard Klub" Projects

Hi everyone
- this post will be a bit longer than usual as I am showing you the cards we made this past Saturday at our Klub get-together. I have not been in my craft room since then b/c some of our family arrived and they just left this morning. No time for crafting when our granddaughter is around.

Here is a "Screen card" - or "Room Divider" card ...

We made this next card using the "smack down " technique and Gorgeous Grunge

This card has a fun closure on it  ... the brad holds the card closed -

Here is a view of it open ...

We made this card with the water color emboss technique - such fun to do but I think my spritzer left the embossing folder too wet - I have a spritzer from Stampin' Up! on order and as soon I receive it I will try this technique again.

We did this technique first because there is a drying time before one can put the card together ... here are the girls' samples! Love how everyone did their ink application a little differently - and one gal actually used a different folder from the rest of us.

Between Saturday and Monday hubby had a bunch of baby pigs born - here is "the girl" with one of them!

I am expecting an order sometime this afternoon ... maybe there will be something to show you in the next few days. See you soon. Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have been blessed.

Typeset Bloom Note Card

Hey there, peeps.
I have done a mish-mash of things today ... in the midst of being back and forth to the Krafting Korner as I prepare for Klub on Saturday. Usually by Thursday I can sit back and relax but not this week. Ummmm wonder why?

However, I do have a card to share - one I made a few days ago. I used a Stampin' Up! Note Card - the cards and envelopes are found in the Annual Catty. Used a simple piece of Typeset DSP on which I stamped an image from Bordering Blooms (These seem to be getting onto most everything I do lately ...ummmm) I added the big Bloom from Blooming With Hope that I had colored with Blendabilities.
As you can see I also stamped on the envelope.

I trust this day has been good to you -
Blessings and HUGS!

Sweetbriar Rose

Well - here it is afternoon already. The sun is shining bright and it is a beautiful day.
I spent some time yesterday coloring this pretty rose - a new stamp for me - and put this card together this morning. I used the Blendabilities - Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive to do this, and then "shaded" with Soft Sky using a blender pen and ink. I added a border with Soft Sky using one of the Bordering Blooms photopolymyer stamps; also stamped a corner of the rose at the top right hand corner. I intentionally left the sentiment off ... thus I can use this for any occasion. The inside is very simple ...just the Soft Sky border and the corner of the rose.

I trust you are enjoying this awesome day.

Blessings and HUGS,

Another Watercolor Emboss

Good morning folks!
I trust everyone had a wonderful weekend - the weather sure was amazing, wasn't it?
A few days ago I showed you some samples of the Water Color Emboss technique ... here is the final card I made with those samples.

This is the sample - note the mossy meadow, hello honey and blackberry bliss.

When I went into my krafting korner the next morning this is what I found ... well, not the card itself - but the colors. It appears that the honey (yellow) faded right out. I am not sure why. But -I decided to use it anyway. So I matted it with Blackberry Bliss and mounted that on a piece of Mossy Meadow. The ribbon is Hello Honey. And of course, some bling - rhinestones. What do you think?

Have a great day today! Bring some laughter into someones life! and be crafty!

TYPESET SPECIALTY DSP

Hi Peeps!

I purchased this DSP and then when I got it I wondered why. Have you ever done that? I seemed to have a block as to how to use it... but yesterday I sat down and let the creative juices flow! This DSP is thinner than what we are used to (like a page in a book); and it is vanilla and black. So I thought I would add some color to it (anyone who knows me knows how I love color) - sponged on the map piece and used Blendabilities on the other two pieces (next time I'll use the markers) - I wanted to be able to show what you can do with this if you decide not to use it in its natural state.

I made this card using exclusively Vanilla and Black as my colors... Love it!

And then I decided to step it up ... took the same DSP and colored the flowers, matted it and added to a piece of CS - and voila!

I have another design running around in my head ... may not get to it till tomorrow. See you then!
Thanks for visiting!

Water Color Embossed Cards

Hi everyone!
Yesterday I made up some cards with the water coloring embossing pieces I had created ...
Here are two of them:

I mounted this first one on a piece of Bermuda Bay CS and then onto a Blushing Bride CS base ... it is very pinky so I have decided to leave it unfinished as I may use it for a girly birthday card or thinking of you card  - probably adding some flowers or butterflies to it. Maybe I'll remember to show it to you when it is completed! :)

As I looked thru my "stash" the other day I noted that I don't have any sympathy cards ... so this one became just that. The stamp set is an old one called Simply Sketched  - not one that I will retire even though Stampin' Up! has done so! :) Again I mounted the watercolored embossed piece on Bermuda Bay and then onto a Baked Brown Sugar base.

As I look at these cards I am reminded that they would have been totally different if I had used a different color combo! I think that is what I love about Color! Everything works! It all goes together! I heard an Interior Designer say one time, "All colors go together if you put them together!" AND - I went to Rug School in the spring and our teacher said pretty much the same thing! YEA!

I hope you have enjoyed this day ... and ...
Relished the color around you ...
Thanks for peeking.

Water Coloring Dry Emboss Technique

Hi there peeps!

I have learned a new-to-me technique today. I don't know the name for it so I have made up my own name ... see title of this post! :)
It may be a familiar one to some but I have not seen it or tried it before today. I have some pics to show you what I have done - the cards made with this technique will follow at a later date.
Here are the steps:
1) Cut white or vanilla CS to size you wish
2) Sponge CS all over with 3 colors of ink ...your choice
3) Take an embossing folder, open , spritz the side that has no wording (such as Sizzix) on it...
4) Lay the sponged CS onto the wet folder - sponged side down - press lightly and lift carefully
5) You will have the imprint of the folder on the CS - allow to dry before using - you may heat dry to speed the drying process.

In this first example I used Blushing Bride, Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate -and the Mosaic folder

For this next one I swapped out the Smoky Slate for Soft Suede - same folder

Different colors and different folder:
Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Crisp Cantaloupe with Wood Grain folder

And - last but not least - I love these brighter colors!
Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow with Wood Grain folder

Now what do you think? Such a simple, cool technique ... I hope you will give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Ruthie

Doodled Blended Blooms

Hey Stampers!
What a gorgeous day this us! Sure is a lot different from last Saturday when "Arthur" hit us!

I saw on someones blog where they had doodled a Blended Bloom flower & I decided to give it a try. I am a doodler at heart but haven't done anything quite as intricate as this bloom... it was fun to see them come together.

This is the first one I did -

And here is the card I made with it -

This is another bloom that I doodled and colored with Blendabilities -

And the card I made with it - (the picture doesn't do the card justice)

I used the new whisper white seam binding on this one ... I really like how the seam binding is so easy to tie. I goofed on the bottom cutouts ... did one in one direction, and the other in the opposite direction - I guess I wasn't paying attention. However, there are no mistakes in card making and I used it to my advantage! Don't you love it when that happens?

I hope this has given you some inspiration on this beautiful day!
Blessings and hugs!

Thinking Of You

Hi everyone!
Well! That was quite the weekend around here! Power outages from a few hours to reports of some people still being without power. We went 37 hours - thankfully Pa got the generator going and we were fine! Needless to say the Kraft Korner was sorely neglected!

However, I was in there today for a few minutes and put together these 2 cards - both with flowers I had colored last week.

They are both quite simple ... I love my bling but sometimes "less is more"!
Hope you have had a good day! I have my granddaughter here for a few days so may not get back here 'til the end of the week!
Stay tuned - never know what you might see here!

Blessings!

Bloom With Hope

Good Morning!

This card has as its focal point the large flower and the daisy from 'Bloom With Hope' hostess set. I stamped the larger flower first, then masked it to stamp the daisy X 2... this makes the daisies appear to be behind the larger flower. Then I set to coloring with the Blendabilities - FUN! I also colored the rhinestones with the Blendabilities! So cool!

Here is the inside of the card - I could have colored the flowers but chose to leave them "open" ...
There is no sentiment on this card - I am already thinking of an occasion that I can use it for and will add the sentiment then!

Enjoy this day ... give thanks for your blessings and hold your head high!
